Der schnell voranschreitende Klimawandel in den Schweizer Alpen treibt den Gletscherschwund an und taut Permafrost auf. Wir erforschen die Auswirkungen dieser drastischen Veränderungen auf die alpine Biodiversität.

We explore permafrost as a refuge for microbial life forms in the three poles (Alps, Arctic, Antarctic). These organisms live in permafrost and ice for thousands of years.

Wir erforschen Gletscher als Refugium für mikrobielle Lebensformen in den Schweizer Alpen. Diese Organismen leben Tausende von Jahren im Eis und kommen nun durch die Klimaerwärmung wieder zum Vorschein.
