Distinct rings, ring porous to semi-ring-porous, vessels mostly in groups vessels thick-walled, simple perforations, round and scalariform intervessel pits, vessel diameter 40-70 µm, parenchyma paratracheal, pervasive and marginal, ray width 4-12 cells, homocellular, prostrate cells, ray cells unlignified, crystals absent.
