Only one ring, vessels predominatly solitary, vessel diameter 100-200µm, simple perforation, intervessel pits opposite, round and scalariform, fibers absent, parenchyma pervasive, parenchyma storied, ray width >10 seriate, confluent with axial tissue, unlignified, all ray cells upright, phloem groups in the pith (bi-collateral vascular bundle).
