Distinct rings, semi-ring porous, vessels solitary, vessels small (20-30 microns) vessels thick walled (2 microns), paratracheal parenchyma, parenchyma thin walled between vessels, thin walled marginal parenchyma, thick walled intraannual fibre bands, rayless, sometimes with large rays, sometimes with crystal druses.
