Xylem

Distinct rings, diffuse porous, earlywood vessels in short radial multipels, simple perforations, earlywood vessel diameter 30-70µm, with helical thickenings, fibers with small pits, axial parenchyma not to recognize, rays mostly uniseriate, homocellular with prostrate cells, without crystals.

Phloem

Distinct tangential layers of parenchyma and sieve tubes and sclerenchyma. Sieve tubes collapsed in older rings. Many exceptionally large prismatic crystals and a few crystal druses .
