Distinct rings, semi-ring porous, vessels in long radial clusters, simple perforation, vessel diameter 20 - 50µm, Groups of sclereids (small simple pits), pervasive parenchyma, rayless, storied. Phloem groups in the pith and sometimes in the xylem.

Tangential layers of collapsed sieve cells, uniform cortex. Needle shaped crystals.
