Distinct rings but only visible in polarized light, semi-ring porous, vessels solitary and in groups, often vesselless zone (intervascular parenchyma). Vessel diameter 20 ¿ 50µm, vessel frequency 100-200 mm2, vessel frequency 200-500 mm2, reticulate vessel-pitting, fibers missing, rays in form of pith-outcrop parenchyma, crystals absent.
