Only one ring, vessels solitary and in radial rows, vessels with simple perforations, intervessel pits round and scalariform, fibers thin walled with small pits, parenchyma not to recognize, ray width 1-3 cells, often confluent with axial tissue, ray cells exclusively square and upright, without crystals
