Xylem

Distinct rings, diffuse porous, vessels in radial rows of 2-6 and solitary, earlywood vessel diameter 40 - 60mµ, fibers with small unbordered pits with slit-like apertures (libiriform fibers), vessel frequency 80-150 mm2, intervessel pits scalariform, simple perforations, parenchyma marginal and apotracheal (rare), ray width 2-3 cells, rays homogeneus, cells procumbent and square, vessel ray pits round to oval in horizontal rows.

Phloem

Distinct tangential layers of thick-walled fibers and sieve cell/parenchyma. With ray dilatations. Groups of sclereids in the phloem and the cortex. With oil cells in the cortex and at the pith border.
