Xylem

Distinct rings, diffuse porous to slightly semi-ring porous, vessels in radial rows of 2-4 and solitary, earlywood vessel diameter 40 - 50mµ, fibers with small slightly bordered pits with slit-like apertures (libiriform fibers), vessel frequency 100-200 mm2, intervessel pits scalariform, scalariform perforations with 5-10 bars, fine helical thickenings, parenchyma marginal, ray width 2-3 cells, rays homogeneus, cells predominantly procumbent and square rare with 1-2 upright cells, vessel-ray pits oval in horizontal rows.

Phloem

Distinct tangential layers of thick-walled fibers and sieve cell/parenchyma. With ray dilatations. Continuous band of sclereids in the cortex and groups of sclereids in the phloem and the cortex. With oil cells in the phloem and cortex as well as at the pith-border.
