Xylem

Distinct rings, diffuse porous to slightly semi-ring porous, vessels in radial rows of 2-4 and solitary, earlywood vessel diameter 40 - 70mµ, fibers with small slightly bordered pits with slit-like apertures (libiriform fibers), vessel frequency 100-200 mm2, intervessel pits predominantly round and sometimes scalariform in opposite position, scalariform perforations with 2-5 bars, parenchyma marginal, ray width 2-3 cells, rays homogeneus with procumbent cells and slightly heterogeneous with one to two square and upright cells, vessel-ray pits round to slightly oval in horizontal rows.

Phloem

Distinct tangential layers of thick-walled fibers and sieve cell/parenchyma. With ray dilatations. Groups of sclereids in the phloem and the cortex. With oil cells in the phloem and cortex as well at the pith border.
