Participation in the 2024 Meeting of the International Forestry Quarantine Research Group

The annual meeting was held at the FAO headquarters in Rome and was hosted by the IPPC.

With IFQRG members and stakeholders from science, industry, and regulatory institutions attending, the meeting provided a platform to exchange emerging topics in forest health and to discuss challenges with current regulations and possible ways to improve pyhtosanitary measures to prevent the spread of forest quarantine pests and pathogens.

Both Iva and Jana presented parts of the group’s work, focusing on biosecurity risks of traded tree seeds, and on monitoring quarantine pests in Switzerland with new high-throughput sequencing technologies.
