MeteoSwiss and SwissSPOT Collaboration for National Soil Drought Monitoring

The project SoilDroughtCH aims to establish a comprehensive Swiss-wide soil drought monitoring system. We will build four new MeteoSwiss soil moisture stations at SwissSPOT sites to link grassland-focused MeteoSwiss stations with forest-focused SwissSPOT stations. This collaboration will integrate soil moisture data from both grasslands and forests, enhancing our ability to monitor and manage soil drought conditions across Switzerland. The goal is to create a robust, real-time monitoring network that provides detailed insights into soil moisture conditions.
