SwissFungi

SwissFungi are distribution maps with records of all the species of fungi found in Switzerland so far. These distribution maps serve as a base for the elaboration of the Red List of threatened species and inform authorities about presence of protection demanding species in each region.

Swissfungi is part of the national data centre for biodiversity (Info Species) initiated by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). SwissFungi aims to make knowledge about the distribution and endangerment of all Swiss fungi without the lichenised species available to a broader public, and to provide the basis for their protection in Switzerland.

In addition to the status in the current Red List of endangered macrofungi, reference is made in the distribution atlas to the 12 nationally protected species according to the Ordinance on the Protection of Nature and Cultural Heritage (NCHO). As information on nature conservation practices, the priority category is given according to the publication "List of National Priority Species" (FOEN 2011).
