Visit by Mireia Gomez

On Thursday, 28.3., Mireia Gomez-Gallego from France visited our group and gave a seminar “Understanding the emergence of the Sooty bark disease of sycamore maple, caused by Cryptostroma corticale, in Europe”. Mireia is a pathologist in the team “Ecology of Forest Pathogenic Fungi” of the unit Tree-Microbes Interactions (IAM) in INRAE Nancy, France. Her research focuses on forest emergent diseases. She investigates their causes, epidemiology, monitoring and impacts, using different pathosystems (Cryptostroma corticale, Diplodia sapinea, Phytophthora spp.). We enjoyed hosting Mireia and discussing the common topics and future research ideas with her.
