Research interests

I am interested in "global change ecology", "treeline ecology", and "disturbance ecology". My current research focuses on the impacts of global change at species level (plant ecophysiology) and community/ecosystem level (vegetation and ecosystem change, aboveground-belowground interactions)

Current research projects

  1. Dynamics of Forest-Grassland Ecotone under Global Environmental Changes (Project No. LFSE2013-01; 2013 - ......)
  2. Physiological mechanisms underlying the dynamics of the upper limit of different life forms under climate change (NSF China Project No. 41371076; 2014 - 2017)
  3. Carbon-physiological responses of trees to climate change (using Expriments: Querco, Buklim,  N-deposition in Alpthal, and irrigation in Pfynwald etc.; 2007 - ......)
  4. Comparing and linking the d13C and d18O in needles and treering for understanding the past physiology in trees (Sino-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation Program SSSTC. Project No. EG44-092011; 2011.1 - 2011.12)
  5. Physiological mechanism of alpine treeline formation (NSF China, Project Nos. 30540039, 40771071; 2005 - 2009)
  6. Effects of simulated defoliation on physiology and growth of Abies alba trees
  7. Interactive effects of N and water on plant carbon physiology in semi-arid grasslands (using experiments: Xilinhaote experiments, Duolun Water-N exp.)
  8. Effects of global changes on soil collembola (using experiments: Querco, Buklim,  N-deposition in Alpthal, Swiss FACE, and irrigation in Pfynwald; Sino-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation Program SSSTC. Project No. EG07-092009; 2009.1 - 2009.12)
