We establish a Center of Excellence covering the complete NetZero topical scope. It builds upon the tremendous expertise at the four research institutes (RIs) of the ETH Domain. So far, this expertise has been scattered and loosely connected across institutional and disciplinary boundaries. The Center of Excellence offers an inter-institutional collaboration framework. It combines bottom-up organization to unlock the initiative of all involved experts with top-down strategic guidance towards the common goal, including aggregated targeted communication with stakeholders for maximal impact. During the initial three years supported by the ETH Board, inter-institutional collaboration along the value-creation chain and the operation of the Center of Excellence will be established, evaluated, and streamlined.
